America Divided

America is more divided today than it has ever been. While we occupy our time arguing whether two men should get married, or if abortion is murder, or any other left, right issue, the Democrats, Republicans and Corporate America in Washington are taking advantage of our distracted minds. They are exporting jobs to sweat shop countries, importing poverty from south of the border, gouging our wallets with high oil prices, health insurance premiums, awarding military contracts that are worth millions, and manufacturing new ways to tax us.
The media is a tool used to distract us from what is really going on. Anna Nicole Smith, Britney Spears, all the soap opera lives we become enthralled with occupy too much of our energy.
The powers that be want us to be divided. The left, the right, we fight over things that won't ever be changed until we get our voice back. We are all futile in our endeavors. We're wasting our energy. Think about it. Gay marriage, they give a little on it, then they take a little. The war in Iraq; Democrats want us out. But they pass non-binding legislation. We do not have a voice anymore, so all the division is just wasted air.
American citizens need to get back to what made this country strong. UNITY! Sure, we all have different theological, social, and environmental views. But we all share common ground in our citizenship. We have to come together to stop all the radical changes that our government is implementing. We need to tell the Democrats and the Republicans that we've had enough of their antics, before they sell this country to foreign interests. I grew up Republican, and see good in what both parties stand for, but I do not see any good in what they are standing behind. Therefore, I choose to switch my affiliation to independent. It is going to take a majority of us changing our party loyalty to get their attention.
